[Updated] Occasionally, I wish I had a Mac

Update: There are some good experiential observations on Kinkless GTD in the comments from the original post. Check out the comments here to see what others are recommending instead...

I am pretty happy with my Windows PC's, but occasionally I see something that makes me Jones for a Mac. Here is one such thing - it's about a tool called "Kinkless GTD" and it looks cool. The guy talks a bit fast, but this is worth a look, even if you don't have a Mac.

You can find out more about Kinkless GTD here.

There is no Windows version, but L.S. Russell claims to have found "an almost Kinkless GTD for Windows." However, I'm not in the mood to experiment with a non-Outlook GTD solution right now - it almost seems like it'd be easier to go to the Mac.

Fight it! Fight the temptation! You know I love my Mac, but switching for a single app would be crazy. I've messed around with the Kinkless way and it's interesting, but involves serious learning curve with a couple of pieces of software. Wasn't worth my time, ultimately.

And if it makes you feel any better, I'll tell you that I wish for a MacBook Pro so that I can run Windows again. And only for this specific app: http://www.businessobjects.com/jump/cxnow/. I just want to be able to build cool dashboards all day long. :-)

Even though I am a Mac user, I cannot recommend KinklessGTD. It hasn't been supported for nearly a year and can cause havoc with calendars in particular.

It has, however, spurred on the OnmiOutline mob to create their own version OmniFocus, which is still in development.

But better still is the cross-platform ThinkingRock http://www.thinkingrock.com.au

It just works.
